Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I currently accept Cigna, Aetna, Quest Behavioral Health, and BCBS. Your specific plan will determine the cost you pay per session. You may have a copay, deductible, or coinsurance. This information can be found on your insurance card, by calling your insurance company, or through your insurance’s member portal. I will be accepting Optum (United Healthcare, Oxford, Oscar) plans later this year.
How much do sessions cost?
Self-Pay sessions are $145 for an intake and $125 for all following sessions.
What ages do you work with?
I work with ages 5 and up. I work a lot with children, teens, and young adults. Please note that while I work with children and teens, I do not provide any divorce services or do anything with the court. If you are wanting help regarding court and divorce, I can provide referral information.
Any specialties?
My specialities are working with LGBTQ+ populations and challenges, mood disorders, and child behavioral struggles.
How long is a session?
Sessions are typically 53 minutes long.
What if I start therapy and I don’t like it AND/OR YOU?
That’s okay! I would say give it 3 sessions and if you feel it’s not for you, maybe the time isn’t right or I am not the right provider for you. I will be happy to help you find another provider that you feel suits your needs. Having a solid rapport with your therapist greatly affects the outcome of therapy, so if I am not the right therapist for you, there will be another that is! The goal is to get you the support and help you are looking for, rather that is with me or someone else!
How long does therapy last?
This is a case by case answer. However, there are factors that impact the length of therapy:
The severity of what you are coming to therapy for.
How long the problem has been occurring.
How motivated you are to work on your goals. The work you do in and out of therapy sessions greatly impacts your progress.
Is there any guarantee therapy will help?
No. Most clients achieve their therapy goals, but not everyone does. I will do my best to help my clients reach their therapy goals, but that is the only guarantee I can make.
What if you say something I don’t like?
Therapy is collaborative. I am here to help and support you with your therapy goals. If at any time you are offended by something that I said, (I try hard not to do this, but recognize that I am human and make mistakes) please feel free to bring it up and provide feedback. I appreciate feedback and it helps me grow!
